I've researched the torsion bar crank and it seems like the front end part will wear more quickly... Not a fan of that so much. But, I called 4wheelparts store to see how much they charged to install a body lift and they quoted me 800$! For a 200$ kit? Don't think so. Is that reasonable? I don't think I'll be going that route so I may have to settle on either 275's or 265's with the stock suspension...

I'm acquainted with a shop owner who does lifts kits, bed liners and such.
I asked him just out of curiosity what he charges to install a body lift on a full size SUV like ours and he said $250.
I thought that was a decent price myself.

Different locations will have variations in price due to supply and demand and other like factors though.

If you feel like you can do it, body lifts are rather easy to install.
The installation doesn't require many tools either.
Just some patience.

I have done a 3 inch body lift by myself before, but I was using a lift and had all kinds of tools at my disposal. Now, I don't have any of that. So I have to have it installed by some shop. I'll do some looking around and see what I can come up with. I knew 800$ was crazy high for a simple install

That's before the lift?

No, the pic he shared was after the body lift was installed. The rear bumper no longer matches the lines of the body. Normally it lines up with the grooves on the side of the body.

It's a little draw back to the body lift. You have to relocate the bumpers due to them being attached to the frame, not the body. My kit came with brackets to raise up the front but nothing for the rear bumper. That requires fabrication or just living with it where it's at.

I just finished my body lift installation today, didn't take a picture though.

Here it is yesterday before work, just don't have the bumper and grille back on yet.

Thanks y'all.
My yukon had better be glad that it has a nice body on it.
I've dumped a lot of money into it.

I'm going to lift my rear bumper like southern hoe did.
I may buy the zone offroad kit to let others know the quality and fitment of it.

Alright, there's a lot of talk about different lifted set ups. I'm curious to know what ya'lls opinion is about the stock suspension. Do you think it's fairly capable? I'm only asking because I have a long way to go to save up for a new suspension so I'm going for a 3inch body lift soon to fit some 285's BFG all-terrains on.

Let's hear it!!

Beef up the tie rods and the rest should be fine
