Yeah I was wrong- that pigtail is female like the cluster, it just looks like a male in that pic. What year is your truck? Let’s see the back and front of your cluster. Here’s two EBay clusters that fit 07-14’s. Yes, completely different than yours. Also here’s a 03-06 which looks like it fits your harness. Weird.

my cluster looks like the 07-14’s you posted. The picture of that jumper harness threw me off because it definitely looks like a male plug at both ends. I’ve been trying to track down a female plug because I have no issues wiring, soldering, crimping etc. I’d much rather attempt on my own. Maybe I’ll just go crazy and hardwire the Escalade plug right to my dash harness

Here’s the vehicle side of the harness.

A connector’s “gender” is determined by the terminals it houses. For example, the connector in my pic above is male because the terminals are male. The factory cluster plug that’s part of the dash harness is female because it houses female terminals.

This is correct. Not having the parts in front of me caused my confusion. I’ve built a lot of wiring harnesses and have quite a selection of Deutsch connectors on hand, and that’s the way I order them. It’s the pins. Here’s one, and the male pin is on the left with its corresponding housing which looks like it’s a female while the female pin on the right with its corresponding housing which looks like a male. The left is called the male connector, right is female. If you look inside an assembled connector, the male has pins that protrude and the female just has holes that the male pins go into.

What if your connectors don't identify as male or female?

HA! Almost as funny as the 60 year old dude I worked with who jumped a 6 foot chain link fence at full sprint during a refinery explosion and fire at Chevron in Torrance next to i405. Stick with the old guys in your apprenticeships, you'll live longer. The FDS management at the plant started some of the equipment before all the explosive atmosphere was purged.

Anyone have the Escalade pin out? I found the Chevy side but nothing on the Escalade side. Made the bezel which wasn’t fun but got it done
