The efficiency of modern internal combustion engines is more than 40%, modern diesel 50-60%. The efficiency of a nuclear power plant is 30-35%, coal-fired 20-25..all over the world, 60% of electricity is produced by burning coal. They are trying to transplant us to less efficient technologies
That is misinformation. 20% was coal and it's declining year over year.

I think 'they' are transitioning from fossil fuels to renewable energy.

37% on a worldwide level and again that is gonna taper significantly. https://www.worldcoal.org/coal-facts/coal-electricity/

Far cry from your 60% sensational jargon lol.

I’ll have to carry a Honda generator in the back of the Tahoe, in case I run out of juice.
I don’t know??? They can’t get over the air updates right without sometimes bricking the car.

No offense man but your reading sensationalist headlines.

Ev install prices. Level 3 would be awesome. But even level 2 for the house is ok fine and reasonable. https://blog.carvana.com/2021/07/how-much-does-it-cost-to-install-an-ev-charger/

I've had toyota hybrids for decades and ive never had to replace a battery. And the beauty of it is hybrids don't have lots of consumables normal ice engines have like serp belts or brakes that need to be changed every 30 to 40k miles.

You do lose capacity during winter. Just like gas does too.

If electricity goes down due to weather events do gas stations still work? Answer is no.

Sall good tho.
You didn't address my scenario about the sick relative. The reality is that vehicle is not up for the task. If the gas stations go down I have 50 gallons in my garage and I can drive to another town for fuel. EVs cannot do that.

As others have stated, it's good for a suburban commuter, city folk parking their cars on the street, not so much. Can you imagine what it would be like trying to charge your EV up in the Bronx? LOL

EVs don't have brakes anymore? My serpentine belt lasted 177K miles.

Oil is the renewable energy, it is made inside the earth. The precious metals needed to make batteries are finite.

It's another gigantic lie of life that EVs are for everyone. If "they" succeed, watch how fast your liberties are lost when they cut the power to your home.

My truck produces less emissions than the coal or oil or natural gas plant needed to charge/power an EV.

Ok, Coal, gas... In total it's 60% even in the USA) plus nuclear energy, that's another 20%. What are you talking about? :) coal, gas, and nuclear power generation is a steam boiler that has not changed much since the 18th century with a low efficiency.
I repeat ... The efficiency of modern internal combustion engines is already 40-60% ...
For a wind generator, it is 40% ... while people do not know how to save and move electricity over long distances without loss.
Pure electric car, this is not a new development, it is a dead end in the current state.

This will be a $130k+ suv that very few can afford and GM will only be able to make 100-200/month just like the hummer cuz they can’t get enough lithium mined for the batteries. Use more fossil fuels to make 1 battery than they save for their “green energy”

Your ev is always charging. So in your scenario you would have max range the day you need to go get fuel. Your gas car isn't full when you start your day unless you just filled up. I'm not sure why you are keeping 50 gallons of gas in your garage. That isn't safe. You could have some batteries for that same scenario.

You know how regenerative braking works? You didn't change a serp belt for 177k miles? Lol ok.

Fossil fuels are renewable? Lol I suppose the world is flat too. if the world makes fossil fuels like you claim I suppose the world doesn't make these finite minerals ? Lmao.

Liberties lost? Ok. That's enough for me lol. Let's keep bending facts to fit your narrative. The boogey man is coming. Jesus.

What's a dead end state is you guys just making things up lol.

Well, in general, scientists have long argued that oil is a renewable resource that has nothing to do with organic matter. And here there is not even a close theory and a flat earth.
About the fact that an electric car is always charging ... how much can it charge overnight at home? 5-7-10kw per hour? and the consumption of an Escalade format car will most likely be 35-40 kW per 100 km ... it turns out that it will charge from 100 to 200 km overnight. and it's summer. and in winter it's -50% cool, charge the car all night and charge for 50 km)))
And about autotravel far, I generally keep quiet. 2 hours to go, 1 hour to drink coffee while charging. Why such a journey? while my Yukon gives a range of more than 1000 km.

The fact of the matter is that we do not invent, but we look realistically at things. History is full of cases where marketing and greed go against logic and common sense. The wholesale planting of diesel in Europe, now, oh my God, diesel has turned out to be harmful after the diesel car fleet has become more than 80%, now let's have electric cars in every home. and we will ban Diesel, declare it harmful, and stop letting it into the cities .... this is just LOL
