They machined cast iron? I didn’t even know that was possible. But like others have said, these LS manifolds should be fine. New ARP bolts are my recommendation.
that's what I was wondering didn't know it was even possible or a thing

Aren't some heads and blocks cast iron? They get machined.

Yes, almost all engine blocks, heads and transmission housings are cast, and then machined. Manufacturers do this to save time and material. Just think how long it would take to machine an engine block out of a billet piece of steel or aluminum. Not to say it isn't done, but it's usually race car parts that are done from billet steel or alum.
