I traded an 07 Escalade for this 16 Suburban. Just starting to learn about this generation. I don’t recall with my Escalade, but are the cracks on the manifolds normal? It’s on the passenger side also. And before putting everything back together, are the engine mounts a common problem like in the 07-14 gen? Suburban has 128k.

That’s not a crack. It’s there by design to permit thermal expansion.

Well, I don’t get to try out the extractor tool, lol. After removing the manifold it gave me all the room needed to get a channel lock in there. Loosing and tightening it back and forth.
Does that connection point between the manifold and exhaust pipe take a gasket or is it a ball and socket type fit?
