So I am finally fed up with this whine coming through my speakers, I have made numerous visits to the audio shop that did the install and every time I go there I leave there unsatisfied! Although I don't pay them because I tell them that I already paid for a service that they should of done, but I ended up buying what they called a Ground Loop Isolator...shyt don't work, it helps but it doesn't eliminate noise...I bought two from them a month ago, I visited them again today and ended up buying two more...and I just realized my headrest tvs don't play the movie WTF! Noise still there and now tv's don't work!! I am done!!!

Bay Area TYForum members, I need your help! I love my truck and I hate that its in this type of condition...is there any audio shop that you would recommend that actually knows what the F**K they are doing.

I am ready to take a drive almost anywhere...but I'll start locally in the Bay Area 1st.

So bring it TYForum, help out a fellow member!!!

GROUND LOOPS ARE:

MULTIPLE GROUND CIRCUITS

try running your grounds forthe tv/dvd/etc to body ground... then try adding a connection from there to radio ground if necessary.

If you have an FM transmitter... well sadly those are really just begging for alternator whine/ground loop issues.

the first thing i did to my Tahoe was remove all the wiring for the after market tv system, and redo it dtiching all ground loop eliminators, and putitng in a good single ground for all devices other than oem radio.

I now only get a nearly inaudible whine, and that only with the FM transmitter turned on.

next step is to try adding a ground to the OEM radio harness that leads back to the common system ground.

There is one simple thing you can check urself. Make sure your signal and power wire are not running down the same side of the truck, something this simple gets overlooked by the pros. Just saying

I had the same whine and moved my power wire away from the RCA cables. Sounds excellent no whine at all.

yea change out the RCA's and if its not that, it could be a bad ground inside the head unit or it could even be the amp itself, have had engine noise come from each of those on different occasions..

im really good at finding that problem........first question do u have an eq on your system..........if you do put a cd on put the song on pause and turn up the eq and turn up the bass knob and if you get any rumble coming out the bass speaker......it is the radio the radio have a bad ground and most likely u have 2 by a new radio or get the radio fix.........stop buying that ground loop shit it dont work it only cut down the amount of out put going 2 the speaker......
