that second picture is what i had invisioned texture wise for my rockers. how thick is that chip guard? may be a better option.

Apparently the thickness and texture depends on how you apply it. I'm told texture is controlled by how far away you spray it. And the more coats you apply, the thicker it gets.

Kind of a thread dig but did anyone ever decide what they were gonna use? The U Pol Raptor stuff has alot of good reviews and comes with the spray gun for $120. Ive been considering doing just the rockers since my paint is darker underneath the side molding I wanna get rid of.

Ran across a couple pics of an entire truck done with the tintable stuff and it has me thinking of just tinting it with the factory color and spraying the whole thing. I think 2 kits would be enough.

my project was put on hold, as were my paychecks... still plan on doing the rockers, flares, and bumpers once the salt cancer is corrected and I can afford it again.

i like the look of the toyota, and i take it thats the same as the $120 kit? have a link for it?

Supposedly the Toyota took 5 bottles of the stuff. With the tintable you mix in up to 10% of a single stage urethane paint, add the hardener, shake it up and spray. Need a compressor that can supply 40-70 psi. 1 kit covers 125 sq feet. I like the texture of this better than the any of the other roll-on stuff, the Herculiner and the others look too chunky to me.

fully agree on the texture, this is very close to what i was going to try to get them to do with the Line-X, but since it comes with the gun i could do that in the driveway (prefer garage, but truck won't fit) have a 60gal compressor that could handle that no problem. may have to pick up a kit and try it on the KMA bumper before i do the rest of the hoe, see how it looks. sure someone will beat me to this with the way this year is going so far.

I thought about doing this as well on my truck but went in a different direction. However, I found a company that sells industrial non slip paint. It comes in either regular smooth paint or textured and goes for about $135 a gallon. I am trying to find the name of it but its on my other computer at home.

I am probably going to buy a gallon and do my roof since I throw a kyack up there. Ill try to find the name of it.

EDIT: Found it

I haven't decided for sure what I'm going to do. I have gotten my flares mounted, but I still need to finish de-badging. The front flare hid the one rust spot better than I expected. I might be able to repair the rust spot and have it totally hidden by the flare without having to paint or apply bed liner. I'm waiting for good, warm weather to get here and stay here. I'm tired of winter.

yall think mine would look good with the bottom done silver? dont really want black. i go in woods a lot and im getting scratches on my drivers side bottom rockers and i need to push out dent on passenger door . and i got a dent in back corner from the bumper so i need to paint that before rust starts too anyways. which would be a good silver diy bedliner?

I installed my Bushwacker OEM style flares a few weeks ago, but I just got around to taking some pictures today:

I think I need some larger tires.....the 31x10.50 tires look too small in the wheel wells now.

Of course a mild lift would be nice too....

I still need to finish pulling the lower moldings off.
