My 02 Yukon has 217,000 miles when i left for afganistan. Its gettin a full tune up, all new hoses and few other things. I want to goahead and replace a few things now so when i get back i dont have to worry about anything. I Have been pricing some timing chains not expensive at all, but i do know it is a pain to replace thats why ill let the shop do it just not sure what is the best one to go with i listed a link below to a few ive been looking at. The Cloyes Timing Chain Kit is what ive been debating on. Any suggestions would be helpful. Also when i bought it the previous owner didnt know to much about it. Iam not having any issues out of the tranny, but should i go ahead and get it inspected maybe even get it rebuilt while its at the shop i know its costly but my yukno is paid for and i intent to keep it. So i want something i wont have any issues when i get back home. Like i said its not giving me any issues yet, but is there any way i or someone else could inspect it to see what teh condition of it is? Or iam i just worrying about something i shouldnt be? Just a thought in the back of my mind.

Here's the link to the timing chains:

Yhea first day i gat it the check engine light came on was the knock sensors after replacing those it hasnt given me any issues. It runs great I love it, get compliments everywhere i go. Just wanting to get a few thigns replaced while iam not driving it so when i get back i dont have to worry about anything. My intent is to keep it for good. When i gat it, it actually had 200,000 on it but i trade my truck for it, needed somein bigger and with a v8 to pull my toys. I posted a pic of my old truck. When i first gat the yukon it was pretty much stock, Wouldnt give it up for noin at this point. Maybe a denali lol

I wouldn't worry about the tranny unless it's giving you problems. Cross that bridge when you get there. Just keep up on the maintenance and you should be fine.

first thought, do a motor swap/upgrade...

second thought, i bet you could find a low(er) mileage lq4 for only a couple hundred bucks more than paying a shop to do a timing chain...

Cooling system flush if you haven't done it already. Front/rear diff, transfer case fluids. Just the basic maintenance stuff.

i dont know what all youre trying to do with your truck, that was just my opinion. but the lq4 is the 6.0L out of the denali and 2500 trucks. you could try to find a lq9 escalade motor but they tend to cost significantly more than lq4. i see lq4s all the time on craigslist for 800-1200
