So JW Speaker just came out with compact low beam LED projector modules that, with a little tinkering behind the bumper, would work great in the fog lamp spot:

Their main competitor, the Hella LED low beams, are tween $600 and $700 a pop ... so yes, they are relatively cheap for what they are.
