Hi guys,

Have a 2003 Yukon xl. It has the folding mirror option and I just replaced the mirrors because the old ones were pretty crusty. The old ones weren’t folding anymore either.

Installed the new ones which are far nicer, but they still don’t fold.I press in and right on the selector and the mirrors only respond by angling down and in a bit but the mirrors don’t fold at all. Any ideas here?

Thanks!

Are you talking about wanting the glass to move in, or the whole unit?

The whole mirror. They are power folding mirrors and the glass will move appropriately but the mirrors do not power fold in as they’re supposed to. They respond by angling the glass as I described above but no folding happens…

Have you tried the procedure in the manual? Does the mirror control illuminate?

79B25AFA-6234-4DB0-9ED4-4430B211EF61.jpeg I forgot to mention, yes the icon is illuminated. I’m starting to think the only possible culprit is the control module or switch here. It’s obviously getting power otherwise none of the other functions would work. And since neither the passenger side or the drivers side mirrors will retract, i suspect it has an internal fault. There Doesn’t seem like there’s any other source of power to the motor or any other output to the motor other than the switch…

Maybe the control module in the armrest can be jumped a certain way to test...

One of our resident electronics experts might have a trick for that.

Since neither sets of mirrors react as they should, I would probably suspect a bad module/switch in the door panel.

Great idea, I may try that!

You also need the correct passenger side folding window switch for them to work. I found that out because I added the folding mirror option to my 03. Have they ever folded since you've owned it?
