I was also going to mount mine between the liftgate and bumper but, I would have to build a bracket for it. So I decided to center it in the licensplate. I did scratch up the plate a bit because I was using the wrong drill bit. I didn't care at the time because I knew I was up for plates soon. Color with night vision works great. new problem is I just recieved new plates and they are adding a 7th # . If I keep it there it will now be slightly off center.

This is exactly where I have mine at my middle letter is a C so its in the middle of that.

I mounted mine where the keyhole/ pop button was. I pulled the lock out and flush mounted it there. looks great and is high up with a great view.

are you talking the key hole for the spare tire or the button for the rear window hatch?
If your talking spare tire key hole I thought about that but was afraid to off center. Now if your talking rear window hatch button. I would guess that button becomes obsolete.

Like 06xl said I want to see a pic.

its not too high to use for parking. you can't see the hitch, but i use it when i back up to a trailer because it helps me back up centered to the trailer. As rfor mounting it under the handle, I personally didn't wanna drill a hole in the truck, but to each his own, so if you don't mind then go for it. the only thing is, where would you run the wires??
