it worked between the second and third set of gears, and it was awesome. acts as a regular limited slip when not on, and rock solid as soon as you hit the switch. was a good chuck of change, sort of a bad choice since i don't plan on keeping the 10 bolt. buying spee got the better of me!

That's cool. The way I understood it, the E locker was an "open" diff when not engaged. The LS action sounds like a nice bonus, cause when you want ya just hit the button for 100% lock. I too, thought of getting one for the front axle. That with a Trutrac in the rear would be nice....IMO.

Busted Knuckles, I was told it was out of a '95 Chevy 4x4. I believe he said it was a 1/2 ton. Should be, cause its 6 lug. No disc brakes.....hence, the trouble with the drums :)

I'll probably take you up on instructions for setting the Trutrac. If you could do a good write-up w/ pics that would be awesome. It'll be a while until I can afford one anyway....hopefully within 6-9 months, but I'm sure I can do it myself with a little guidance.

Update:

After getting the 14 bolt painted and ready to install, my final measurements concluded that this was out of a 2 wheel drive truck and is about 4 inches too narrow. I wish I would have listened to others (bowtiefreak) earlier about making sure the width was correct. I had thoughts of buying wheel spacers, but decided that wasn't good enough. So, this 14 bolt will probably go on craigslist for sale or trade for a true 4x4, 10 or 14 bolt.

Thank you for all your feedback.

Yeah, its a bummer. Just picked up a new axleshaft for $75 to put in the old 10 bolt. Hope its just the axle bent and not the tube. We'll see...

Take a trip to Missouri, pick up a rear end, why the hell not? :)

If it were the tube that was bent and not the axle shaft, you probably wouldn't have been able to get the old one out and the new one will give you shit going back in as well ...

Your probably right. It seems as if its bent right at the hub, outside the tube, so I'm thinking it'll slide out easy. I imagine the seal will be buggered too. I'm waiting for time off work and the weather (no garage) to do it.
