Okay this may sound stupid but I just checked my fuel pressure with an actron guage and it bounces really crazy between 50-55 PSI. I have never seen a gauge vibrate between readings that much. Is that normal for a Vortec or is my fuel pump going.

Key on PSI 60, key off PSI 45, barely any bleed down and holds for a while.

Thanks Guys

Not the fuel gauge, pressure testing in the rail.

IMO, if it is still running good I would just leave it because those fuel tanks are a B&%^$ to drop.

But, the pressures that you recorded are about right. The bouncing of the pressure between 50-55 is normal, or at least my truck has always been that way and I have never had problems with pressure. Only problem I ever had was wire harness above the pump melted on me because the mechanic I paid to put a new one in after I had gotten some bad gas and ruined it, didn't use any type of connectors to keep the wires from shorting out.
