I have a 96 tahoe 4 door LT. 5.7 automatic, I had the hoe in the shop getting my cd player fixed up and my buddy was looking at my door pin problem. They couldnt get her started to pull it out, and tried several times for about 45 minutes before I got there. It was running when I got there. I guess they put some kind of pressure reader on her and it was reading at 44 but should be around 66-68?? They suggested I need a new fuel pump and guesstimated it at 300 bucks parts and 100 labor.
After some research on my part, parts should be around 100 or less. Plus I found that there are 2 different setups. 1 fuel pump frame mounted, or 1 fuel pump tank mounted. How do I know which one I have?
And my truck has been acting normal since I picked her up, Ive always had a little trouble cranking her up but the hoe always starts for me. Is this something I should replace preventatively to avoid trouble on the road?ANy help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
