Are most dealers filling the tank on pickup of the vehicle? Not being a penny pincher, but picking up long distance and it would be nice to hop in and drive.

I'm surprised they aren't like the car rental companies and charge a fee of $10/gallon to fill the tank, just hide the cost somewhere in the paperwork.

Dealer does receive a fuel allowance based on the average price per gallon for your size fuel tank. Right now Generous Motors is not reimbursing anywhere near the cost.

Dealership is filling the tank, just waiting on detail and top off until closer to picking it up. Thanks for the info!

It's been a while for sure but I worked 4yrs at a dealer when I was younger and it was always full tank on a new delivery, half tank for used. But I will say that employees were directed to put nothing but regular 87 in every vehicle, regardless of specified grade. So something to be aware of and/or request as a buyer. I just bought a new vehicle myself and started mixing 93 when it hit 3/4 of the first tank just to be safe (as I forgot to say something ahead of time).
