Do you guys come to a full stop before shifting to Drive (like after backing out of a parking space)? or do you all roll and shift? I usually do a slow roll and shift. Think it has any long term affects to parts?

I have read that it does an insane amount of long term damage.. but.. since the fluid is compressable.. and runs through the converter and such .. that if youre just rolling and then youre not really accelerating out of idle until youre pretty much stopped.. that the fluid would act as a shock absorber and decant most of the damage that could occur..

For me it's a full stop every time, I don't want to chance it and end up causing problems for myself.

with all the claims of transmission problems in these truck, I would think everyone would be more conscious about things like this. This is my first Automatic I ever owned for more than 8 months so I'm kind of paranoid about things like this as well as parking brake before I put her in park. Will it payoff????

Full stop, I get pissed with my girl when she doesn't make a full stop before shifting.

The only trans that I have know of that was damaged by rolling shifts was fords c6 trans in the early 70's late 60's. That problem was solved by drilling a hole in the servo or something along that line.
