Ok I have to ask, what is the reason for wanting/adding a cap to the capless filler pipe?

Moisture, dirt/dust. Some people actually report snow build-up in there at times.

Those capless filler necks are totally sealed from outside elements, there is a inner and outer sealed system to prevent that. Not sure how snow could build up with the fuel door closed but it would not be an issue anyways with the sealed system.

Nothing is 100 %. Dust and water from a high pressure wash can make it in behind the door. Stick the gas nozzle in the filler and you 're risking junk getting in your tank. For a buck, why not stack the odds in your favor. Not a good design on a $70,000 vehicle ... always looking to improve on a possible problem...

2"I'D Sch 40 PVC Cap is 2 3/8 ID. Works like a charm. Drill u a little hole and hank it on the hook or attach some cord.

Nope, no workie for me. Mine just slides around on the slightly raised area. It doesn't stay on there. It looks like mine needs to be 2-3/4".

What year is yours? Mine is 2 3/8 diameter and slips right to the base of the filler. I'll take more measurements in the AM and post it. Sorry it didn't fit

Cap I'm using is 2 1/4 long, 2 3/8 ID. SCH 40 PVC. Fits all the the way to the bottom of the filler. Someone posted vinyl caps on this site to cover the filler for about @ $10..... My Denali is an '18 .

Here is another option with the vinyl caps. Seems the pickup line doesn't have the gasket around the filler door like the Yukon, allowing snow to build up.
