id get them swapped out, and some new o2 sensors if those are original as well. bet she feels almost new after that.

I'm afraid to increase any power I don't want it to blow up anything lol.

Holy shit, are you still on the same transmission?

Yeah everything is original except front wheel hub bearings and rear axle was replaced with a junkyard unit. I am the 2nd owner as of 1 year and 3 months ago. It was an all highway miles sales vehicle at my job before I got my hands on it.

If you road trip the truck just use the point a-b distance of the trip compared to your trip meter. I find I have a 10% variance in my trip meter and actual miles travelled. I can't correct the wheel size due to the trans tuning, but I see just under 12mpg city and 16-17hwy cruising 80mph but my truck is modified. Cammed 6.0/4l80, 3k stall and 3.42 gears. With a smaller 26-2800 stall on my 4l60 I was seeing 14-15mpg city and 18hwy, so almost stock mileage with more power..

so you know what BOAT stands for then. and the two best days of owning a boat, they day you get it, and the day you sell it lol i miss my boat, then again, i dont.

i really miss fishing....... but once you figure out where they all live on a boat, you know going back to fishing off shore will be a let down to the fullest extent.

Yes I do lol. It's the only place I can get away from everybody's BS for a few hours a day and relax. I am lucky to live 2 miles from the ramp and they let me launch all year long. I got 20 years out of my last motor until I wore it out lol.

i lived 10 miles or less from the GWB, used to launch in the hudson river, head south to the raritian bay and sandy hook area. i could be launched and fishing in 30 minutes, or tow it down there and take a hr or longer till bait hit the water. boat got better mpg vs fuel used towing it both ways too. as we all know, the hudson and the harbor can be a coin toss, its either a washing machine or glass. even when it was bad water it was faster, and you cant beat the view.

sunday was the hang out day, same ramp go north to croton point and drink up the day.

i got my moneys worth out of that boat for ten years, went out every weekend the weather would permit.

saw macys fireworks a load of times on the boat, a few fleet weeks. a few over night striper fishing trips. even towed it to the del river by exit 4 on the nj tpk, went jigging for live herring and then went live lining them for striper, i caught a few monsters up to 34 inches long. lots of good times were had aboard.

Do you know what ratio? It should be on the RPO code sticker on the dash. Also you can create an account with GM and they will send you a build sheet that shows all the options your vehicle has based on the VIN.

Reason I ask is that if you have low gears already (like 3.42) then having big tires lowers the ratio even further and that can cause your engine to be operating at either excessively low or high RPMs. Also you didn't say what kind of driving you're doing. Stop and go driving is an absolute killer in these vehicles because they weigh over 5000lbs and every time you stop, you have to get all that mass moving again, which requires a lot of engine power.

If the issue is gear ratios, you're going to have to decide whether spending $1000+ is a good investment, because that's about how much new gears will cost (you need two sets, obviously, since you have a 4x4.) You can buy a lot of gas with $1000.
All 4X4 'Hoe's come with 3.73's in the NBS

I'm averaging right around 11 MPG in my 2002 4X4 on 31's. But then again I drive like a bat outta hell and have to sit in a car line with it running every day for at least 20 minutes
