Gas pedal sticking a little.

Hey guys my gas pedal is sticking alittle when u first press it I know its the valve in the throttle body where air comes in I cleaned it with carb cleaner and it got better for a few minutes any ideas what to clean it with or a perm fix ? Its what opens and clothes when u press on the gas. 2000 5.3. Thanks.

Ok so from reading the butterfly in my throttle body was dirty and it was. So I cleaned it and it was really easy and I took pics cause I do that also side note a 15 mm wwrench will hold open butterfly for cleaning as seen in pic. uploadfromtaptalk1343937125960.jpg all clean now :) great forum. uploadfromtaptalk1343937181877.jpguploadfromtaptalk1343937208164.jpg

Probably worn out throttle body. How many miles on it?

Ok so my plan for Monday iis to take the 2 little screws loose and get out my dremel and aluminum polish and polish the butterfly and the throttle body inside baby butt smooth. Anyone have any reasons why I should or shouldn't do this ?

I was told the TB has a special coating on it and if you polish it, that coating could then statrt to flake off... and go into motor.

I am NOT 100% sure this is true - but I did hear this once...

I think you are wasting your time, anything the choke spray didn't clean is not an issue. I believe you will find that the throttle shaft has some play in the body. When the engine is running it will tend to stick becuse of the engine vacuum. Check for play in the bushing, you should definately find some with those kinds of miles. If it is smooth without the engine running but sticks with its running I'd bet money your not going to fix it without a new throttle body.
