We have a 3 point generator that hooks to a tractor that powers our house and barns when the power goes out. That’s how I’ll be charging my government forced EV. Big John Deere with zero emissions equipment running “dirty” off-road diesel. Should cancel out any planet saving qualities of an ev quite nicely

My rough math: The energy for fully charging a Tesla from when the battery about done is roughly equivalent to running an electric dryer for about 17 hours. Can you imagine everyone running their dryer at the same time for 17 hours and the brownouts and outages that would result? Even Musk said we need lots more electric grid capacity that we don't have right now for everyone having electric cars.

GM could have designed this 6.2L engine to run on 87 octane just like in the 5.3L. Who says the fuel from the premium pump is actually 91 octane, it may have been close to 91 when delivered but sitting in the ground until being mixed with another batch causes the octane to diminish. When you drive off the dealer's lot with a full tank, you know the dealer used the cheapest gas possible.
Back in my Junior&High School days I used to work at a Sunoco Station when they had separate dials from 190-260. My boss told me has the tanker guy dump half of the 190 into the 260 and nobody ever complained.

I was actually speaking to a tanker delivery driver a few months ago about this.

My dad always used to tell me that 91/93 never used to be pure premium in his day since the gas stations would always over-order regular and under order premium and rather than leave with a partially full truck they had the drivers dump the regular into the premium tanks.

The driver I spoke to is actually turned out to be a friend of a friend by happenstance and I asked him about this. He said this happened a lot but most of the modern stations are computerized now and know the fuel levels of each tank and usually auto trigger order volume.

He said some stations still try to get away with it but he straight up refuses and reports stations to his superiors that repeatedly ask.

Take that with a grain of salt, could be just one standup driver and not the norm. I know the stations on his route and they‘re actually the closest to me and I try to frequent those.

I literally just got my 2022 Yukon AT4 last weekend, and I'm not going to lie, but I did second guess whether or not to go through with it. The only thing is, there are no other options for large sized vehicles, and my girls are getting taller. Mid-sized SUVs won't cut it, and Minivans aren't masculine enough for me... To be honest, if GM made the Yukon electric, I still would have bought it. In my case, SIZE does matter.

What I don’t understand is, obviously the company delivering gas is making money from the gas station by selling it to them at a premium from where they buy
it ….so why would they sell more of their cheaper gas for the gas station to then put into their more expensive version of gas storage tanks? Wouldn’t they want to sell them more of their expensive gas instead?

Or is their spread pretty much the same no matter what type of gasoline they sell the gas station…so most of the time they don’t car what tanks the gas station wants them to fill up

It’s probably impossible to realize it if you’re a normal driver who doesn’t get gas from the same place all the time.

Honestly I’ve never heard anyone, whether it be a friend/family/coworker/stranger having a conversation…ever talk about their average MPG or fuel efficiency for their car...until I came here.

And the crazy part is, you guys are buying a full size SUV with a 5.3L V8 engine (or even bigger) and MPG and fuel efficiency is a huge topic on here lol. And now gas prices are a concern for some, despite these cars are starting cheapest stuff $60k and as high as $85k (without any markup) . Makes no sense to me.

You shouldn’t expect good fuel efficiency and MPG for these vehicles and you shouldn’t be concerned about keeping this type of car with high gas prices if you can afford this type of car in the first place.

Didn’t you say you wouldn’t buy this car if it didn’t come with 6.2L engine and you already spent like $10k in after marker wheels and also detailing your brand new car with some sort of wrap and tints?

Why would high gas prices ever make you second guess yourself lol
