And that's "if" you can do maintenance on them.

Unless EVs are able to get 800+ miles of range, I'm not going to consider them a replacement for ICE vehicles. The cost difference between charging at home and on the road is too significant.
In cold weather a full charge on one of those batteries could only get to 70-80%, so the range diminishes with age and weather conditions.

Tesla's don't even get you to 400. And when you're cruising on the highway at 60+ the range drop off is significant. And I'm pretty sure any of the big manufacturer's are playing catchup to them....so their range wont be at where Tesla is now, given it took Tesla this long to get their range to this level.

Making overtures and virtue signaling doesn’t get it done. They very well could switch course as soon as there is a change in government control. General Motors didn’t become Greenpeace Motors overnight. They are following the dollars and looking for a kickback. Nothing more.

^^This. Same with our electric and natural gas providers. They get a guaranteed rate of return and we fund their mandated changes, none of which benefits the consumer.

This is GM's second attempt at an electric vehicle, the first was called the EV1 during the 80-90s. Pressure from the oil companies caused GM to cancel the program. The electric vehicle would be so much further along today. There is a documentary about it called "Who killed the electric car".

Gas was never that cheap near me in 2016. What state was that in?
Also--I don't understand how fuel that was already in the gas station tanks overnight, can be raised to the new raised prices when it was already purchased at the previous lower price.
Just greed.
Central Minnesota. This was early spring the cost went up in the summer. The price of gas was much higher years prior to this. I took this picture figuring it would never get this cheap again.
