I finally am getting my jeep back on the road and will have a little bit of time to work on the tahoe before winter. I got a cam from a 95 LT1 camaro to swap into it for a little bit more power and I have a tick in my valvetrain. I have my lifters from my motor in my camaro that are the same and have 40K less miles on them and were in perfect working order before I removed them.

Plans right now are timing chain (want to go double roller but don't know if that will mess with the cam sensor or crank sensor), LT1 cam, possibly different lifters, head gaskets (going that far I'm replacing everything) intake gaskets and mabye a new exhaust setup :)

My question is where are you getting gaskets and do I have to replace the head bolts? I know alot of the newer GMs used twist to torque head bolts.

I looked at summit, but no kits, just head gaskets.

One more, is there a write up anywhere? I'd like to know about pulling the timing cover without removing the oil pan.

Thanks in advance, and sorry for rambling

Well I found the gaskets at autozone for $65 and the timing chain from summit for $60, now all I need are some SA 1.6 rockers if I can come up with some extra cash and get it done :) Should be nice with a little bit bigger cam, then a tune in the spring probably.
