So....You wanna do mine next. I am just south of Richmond :Handshake:

i couldn't imagine trying to do all this again. I'm still having trouble trying to get the RS to function properly. Lot of playing around with the menus is involved.

So this bypass module you speak of, does this bypass the factory alarm? Had a shop install my viper alarm and didn't bypass the stock alarm and it's giving me hell now.

I was an installer for years as well. I stopped a few years ago because my back has gotten too bad. It kills me to be all bent over and twisted up under a dash every day. I still do one every once in a while though. I just did two last month, both on 08 silverados for two guys over on GMfullsize.

I just stumbled upon this (funny) thread. My question is: Why didn't anyone tell him (OP) he could call the manufacturer for support? LOL

I can get a good look at a T-Bone by sticking my head up a bull's, but I'd rather take a butcher's word for it. :D:D

There's really like 3 major parts to this install. One would be figuring out what wires from the alarm and bypass module you will actually need to hook up. Two would be finding the appropriate wires in your truck and making the proper connections. Three would be troubleshooting. And that's where I or anyone who isn't an actual installer would get caught up.

Although I love this quote ^^^, I don't see how it applies here at all. Places like Viper, or even sites like 12volt.com have schematics and/or professionals available to help you through an install.

Sounds great! Only problem is, A: That doesn't help the OP at all, and B: Alarm installs are a little less cut and dry than that. You're talking about more than just "power and ground". You're dealing with all types of different signal levels. One mistake can set the entire truck on fire.

Pssst, I am the OP and yes I do realize about the different signal levels and the wiring schematics. I actually did quite a bit of research before starting this endeavor. And have also learned a ton along the way.
