same issue at shop

well, after countless hours of researching, testing, soldering, crying;), praying:), and guessing, it works!!

For some reason I had a wire switched. I could have sworn I had it correct. But I guess that's what happens when you are doing this stuff on a saturday morning at 7am.

I am having the 5701 installed on my 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 and they are having the same exact issue. Everything BUT the RS is working like a champ.
I will call the shop and suggest double-checking the wiring for the bypass. I didn't see on the forum if you posted what wires you had switched. Any information would probably be better than me telling the guy that he is wrong with no constructive information...
I appreciate you posting the story because i am sure it will be helpful.
Thanks All!

which bypass module are you using?

basically i had the GWR from the module going to the wrong 5701 wire.

my installer did my viper 5901 without a bypass and did it for a $100. had it for a year now and only a small problem with one wire almost coming off the brain. but thats not the installers fault.

wow, really cheap price for the install. as much work as i put into installing mine, i would charge at least twice that amount. maybe even more.
