Hello everyone...I have a 07 tahoe LT and I'm having issues with the cruise control. I had the dreaded afm lifter issues and had all repairs done at a local shop. After this my cruise control would intermittently work. I have already replaced the brake switch twice. It has corrected the issue 90 percent of the time...but now when it is set and running if I touch any other button in the truck i.e. window switches, door locks, sunroof it will either control the speed or shut off the system. Craziest thing I have ever seen...no codes. Anybody have any idea where to start?

Everything in these trucks, practically, is controlled by the body control module. BCMs don't react well to low voltage.

I would start by cleaning all your battery connections... positive and negative battery posts, grounds at the engine, both sides of the main fuse, etc.

Also be aware that just because the ends are clean does not mean that the cables are good. These trucks are known for the battery cables getting corroded internally and causing a lot of electrical gremlins.

Now Ken, why didn't you tell Mike here that an advanced scan tool like the Tech2 can read those internal body codes and help shed light on the problem??? LOL

I will start there.. thank you both. I will get the shop to scan the truck and see what pops up and also replace both cables. Hope it's something simple after the cost of the AFM repair I don't want to control fork out anymore for some costly repair.

One of my Pontiacs would do this, never did figure out why, other than that they reprogrammed the BCM to fix it.
