So after looking around for awhile I found a 2022 Z71 that checked most of the boxes I had been looking for at a dealership about 90 minutes from my house; when I called they told me the vehicle was available (much to my surprise). Apparently it was customer-ordered and then the customer backed out. So I drove over and everything checks out except they told me there was a problem with the 2nd row seat when it came from the factory and they were waiting on a bracket or something to fix it. They guessed it should only be a few days but it was coming from GM and they didn't have a ship date. They were selling with no dealer markup, gave me a good deal on my trade-in and offered to put me in a loaner Tahoe off the used lot until the part came in, so I figured it was still a better option than ordering a vehicle myself and waiting 6 months, and I bought it.
15 days later and there is still no ship date from GM on the part needed and the dealer sold the loaner Tahoe I was driving and put me in a little Equinox. I talked to the parts guy doing the ordering and he gave me the number on what he ordered: "frame assy 86825157." I believe it's the larger side of the whole bench seat. He also confided that it may be tough for GM to part with a whole back seat when they are all slotted to go into new vehicles on the production line and suggested I might make things move along better if I complain to GM directly.
I found an email address on this forum- [email protected] and sent a note a few days ago but no response. Does anyone have a better method of making contact or tips to move this along?
