hey guys,

got a question about my girls 03 Envoy 4wd, one day the ass decides to drop down, it looks like the rear is laying frame, not good, so she gets it home and the next morning we come out and truck looks fine. drove it a couple of times during the week and now, during lunch, it's starting to sag ass again. i'm not sure what the problem is and i want to hit up the forum and avoid the "stealership" if possible.

thanks for any input,

iB

I'm not sure about the Envoy, but my father in law has an Expedition that was doing the same thing. His had some pneumatic pumps that did some autoleveling on it. The air springs would lose their air while they were sitting there and pump back up when it was started. Sometimes, they would stay inflated for a couple of days, other times, you would come out there and it would be sitting just like you say the Envoy is. He just had someone remove them and put in some conventional stuff.

Thanks Baron, that's one of the problems that came to mind, I drive a 05 KON and it has the air ride assist-i think it's called, but i have not had any major problems with it as far as the suspension goes, knock on wood, I'm hoping its an easy fix. I'm hoping that someone had a similar problem and knows exactly what to recommend to get this fixed.

ive donea lot of those suvs since late 01. (over 40 trailblazer ss's and well over 200 regular trailblazers locally)

the rear is a air bag set up with the compressor. Your compressor is starting to go. A new compressor is about 600 dollars. A lot of customers that come to me with this problem have 2 options

1) pull fuse 1 under the engine comp box and install stock rear trailblazer springs

2) do a 2/3 drop kit by belltech rides better than stock and dont have to worry about the rear airbags anymore

any other questions just shoot. I helped design coilovers for the trailblazer/envoy and you can see all the suspension items here

no prob more and more people are having this problem and due to the $$$$ for the airbags the belltech kit is cheaper and rides better and replaces both front/rear shocks
