Hey everyone, I have been trying to figure out the best bang-for-buck braking upgrade.

I have an 03 z71 Tahoe and I need to replace rotors/calipers/pads/lines, it makes sense to upgrade the front brakes to the better GMT900 setup, especially because it appears to be a simple swap.

I'll be replacing the rear brakes with stock 2000-2006 parts.
For the fronts it seems that 13" GMT900 2009+ rotors/calipers/pads are the way to go.

Is this true?

I'll probably use an acdelco or a duralast kind of brand.

For the stainless steel lines, is there a single kit that would be compatible for this setup? Or do I need to get a specific set of lines for each front/rear?

Thanks for any help

What you say is true. Don't forget you will need the caliper brackets as well.

There are a few line kits out there. Stop Tech and Goodridge both make them, among others. If you have RPO JL4, you have the 6 line kit. If not, it's 5.

Isn't there a minimum wheel size for the GMT900 calipers to clear? Or am I thinking of a different application?

I've incorrectly posted before that goodridge has a kit with all the lines. The only ones I found that had the 5 or 6 stainless steel line kit for front and back were from Russell. Not sure if goodridge or others offer them or not.

Some people may like duralast or ac delco, but IMO there are so many better options. Those companies are good when you want a factory standards option, because you are extremely limited on options for that part. Brakes are one of the few parts (overall), that there are many companies out there that make a good or better product (for how YOU drive, YOUR vehicle), then what comes from the factory that was dictated by price for the masses.

I'm glad I posted, thanks for the good feedback.
I've got the 17 snowflakes so that's good to know they'll fit.
That makes sense about the brands. It's my daily florida driver and also road trip truck, I've read posts about zinc coated or slotted rotors. People seem to like r1.
What are your thoughts on some of the brands?

I have the Goodridge 6 line kit.
