Most people would replace the wearable steering components if they are original and have 180k+ on them. I noticed one tie rod end was bad so why not do them all and not have to worry about it? After you replace the one you know very well the others are soon to go. Makes perfect sense what I'm doing.
I don't mess around and wait for steering or brake parts to fail completely. I'm not going to risk my life on the road to save a few bucks.
I understand. I took mine in and it had a leaking front axle seal at 166k. I had them do both just to be safe.
