I have the Geolandar ATS in a 265/70-17 on my Suburban. Had them since Feb. Great tire in rain, and very quiet on the road. I honestly can't say how they do in mud though, never had them in mud yet. But dry dirt, and in gravel they are also great. I have put about 5k miles on them, and they still look brand new.

285's and 3.42's definitely made my tranny work harder. But your 3.73's should be fine. Optimal performance should be 4.10s, but your gas mileage will definitely be affected. Got geolander ATS's and they are great for daily with minimal noise. I drive in the rain like its dry out, and on the beach they were awesome. Haven't tried dirt yet and excited to find out about snow!

I am sure DT's have been tried and true. You get what you pay for, but if you are looking for a reasonably priced performer then the yoko is where its at. I have run them for almost 15k miles and haven't run into obstacles that have been a problem yet.

I put 285's on mine and I have the 3.42's. The towing may be derated somewhat, but general drivability is still pretty decent. I may lose a few drag races I would have won with the O.E. 245's, but hey, 5700+ lbs don't outrun much.

I did add a deep sump transmission pan and a trans temp gauge as is my custom. Since I generally run low-range in the mountains the gearing seems fine. I also have the programmer to fix the diameter setup so the computer can factor that in to get correct speedometer and all the other functions that factor in gearing.

On my last trip to Colorado I averaged 14.5 mpg running reasonable highway speeds on the way out and had one tank in the middle 17's on the way back (it's downhill coming home). On the Alpine Loop I got as low a 8 mpg, but never lacked for sufficient pulling power in the steep stuff in low range.

So lots of info obviously. But 285's seem to be more than I need $ wise and size wise. I like my gas Mileage and my power where it's at. If 285 only gains me looks, then 265 is what I'll go with.
