That sucks but good luck bro. Id just get a junkyard engine and slap it in. If its no good then pull and rebuild. Easy if you do it yourself

wellll ive been giving it some thought and i think for the price of getting another truck i might as well throw a 383 stroker in the ***** then adapt in a used 4L80E to handle the power...opinions?

I was once considering that I couldnt afford an OBS.. I had to go newer. But then I realized a brand new 350 or 383 built and dropped in is cheaper than a newer truck anyway, PLUS I get to keep driving an OBS.. Im glad you've re-considered. I like this new way of thinking you have..
Dooooo it.... :D

yeah i mean even if i throw a fresh 350 block in with a full edlebrock top end if i build it right i should be pushing 400 horse, but then ill have to pull the tranny too and do heavy duty clutches and shift kits which isnt too big of a deal

well my parts guy priced me out a brand new 350 ** block with vortec heads rated at 351hp now if i put an edlbrock intake manifold in there, do msd ignition and coil, and transfer over my cold air intake and throttle body spacer also my true duals with high flow cats i should be sitting around 380 at least...400 was just kinda a rough figure

Lol, can't make power without fuel...which is why people don't like the vortec 350 central fuel injection.

Carb swap and a stand alone transmission controller if you are serious about making some big power out of it. Or a mercruiser multiport intake manifold and run all the LS motor goodies on it.

I'd just throw a 383 kit in it and send your pcm off to black bear and have them tune it.
