So today I picked up a set of 6000K for the low's on my OBS. I have crystal eyes brand housing and the projectors have PIAA bulbs in already. Now I am trying to figure easiest way to pull bulbs out and set up my HID's. Is it easiest to just remove the grille and pull entire housings out and do it that way?

I would pull the grille and mount the ballast to the rad support that way they are hidden but if thats not ur style you can loosen the adjustment screw till they pull out and the headlight will come out if you have an owners manual it will show you how

Thought they were supposed to be 9005 and 9006?

The stock bulbs are but the housing that I have are for H3. Right now their are 55w PIAA blue ones in it. So I figured out how to remove the bulbs (real simple actually. the issue is this their is a ground wire that is black that goes from the top part of the projector housing and then a white wire now these go into the stock plug and then into the normal plug to the truck. Now with my HID kit I have a Blue and a Black. I tried both but to no avail. I am gonna do a video tomorrow and post it or pics. My guy that I bought from said I may require some splicing and modding. The High's are still 9006 but the projector is changed. I am a bit lost.

I think you are right that will be easiest and still take least amount of space. In a month I will have 5 more ballasts inside their. I have ordered a westin bull bar with a 2 light mount kit. And then will have a 3rd light in the middle. So I plan on running 5000K in middle and then 3000K on the sides. For my highs I am gonna do 15000K (mainly just for show)

I learned in Jan-April that driving up in the Snow and Mountains at night I could never have to much light.

Should I take the route then to install a second Optima in the spare area? I was going to take my old PEC-8 Winch and install it but with the bullbar I dunno about space.

A second battery would be good for a winch but make it a yellow top not red.

Yes. It is easier.
- Lots of room to work and mount stuff
- Doesn't take long to do.

Picture tutorial sort of HERE.
