How good is the DDM's? I was gonna do the Raptor Kit with 55w upgrade and run 5000K. I do not really need slim ballasts since I got plenty of space.

OEM housing should be illegal to use HID's. It doesnt help anyone and just throws the lighting everywhere. That is why people flash brights is little ricer kids in civic's that toss their HIDS in housing not made for them.

Well at least with our trucks, most of us who buy HID's also replace our old faded fresnel lensed OEM housings with new clear lensed aftermarket stuff!

And I think that your setup just proved a point that was being made here sometime ago. Someone had asked if the projector lens was any good with HID's. The standard reply was no, the beam was too concentrated and in the wrong spot to be usefull for night driving resulting in an overall dim appearance. Who knows if that's really correct. But I think you are proving the overall dim appearance part though.

As for moving up to 55w ballasts. I'm not so sure. I'm been running 5000k 55w in my passengers side and 35w in the drivers side to see if there is any difference. I"m not finding one.

In any event good luck! I hope you don't have to replace those lens with just regular clear ones....

EDIT: All of my HID bulbs and ballasts come from DDM as well.

I do agree it is a bit duller then expected. Now I am not sure if that is due to the projectors or also because they came with a 55w bulbs. I just try to keep as close to legal as I can. granted my daily driver was considerably illegal out here due to tint all around as well as ride height and other mods. I just do not want to be the a$$fcuk with blinding lights driving in Downtown getting flashed by every ******* in a Prius.

Funny though these IPCW housings have such a high price point and a good review on AutoAnything.com I am a little disappointed in the night driving. I might have to make a swap but do not want to brake the bank any recommendations? I been trying to steer clear of eBay to many issues lately their. DDM looks good though. I might put an order in on the 20th after picking up my new car.

I agree with you on that. To that end, I just adjusted my housings downward a little. Didn't make much of a difference from the drivers seat, and it does help with the glare for oncomming traffic.

TYC made a nice kit, but I think they stopped production of them...

I will have to check them out. I was just gonna use Amazon. I wanted to do the clear LED bar style turn signals. I just got a buddy that has the AMG style driving lights the straight bar style. I like those wanted to use those as my DRL's.
