I"m really partial to the Thorleys. My only concern is that they are mid-length, not full length, but they say that it's design compensates for that, and they mostly bolt up to stock exhaust. I have no personal experience with any headers, just what I've been reading.

So, what's air injection? Is that forced air injection like Turbo or Supercharger? Also, Isn't the size of the exhaust and header collector supposed to be 2.5" for Normally Aspirated? And 3"+ for Forced Air Injection? I really don't know. And I'm curious to see what other people think.

****** for me :) theyve been great since ive got them. im having my little bro weld and bend up the exhaust after the long tubes. Fully stainless 2.5", magnaflow cats and mufflers, but the cats arent going to be welded in, only for emission time so i can pop them in head up there, pass then come home and take them off.

you can get a set of ceramic long tubes for under 300 bucks. why spend the money on shorties when you can get the best bang for the buck and do it once.. do it right. :)

After some research, I've landed on a gibson performance pair. GP114, it's supposed to fit perfectly with 5.7 tahoes. I had been leaning towards longtubes, but that's illegal here in california. I can't even get a high flow cat.
It's pretty decently priced too, $440.00 tax and shipping free. Hopefully when it gets here I won't run into any problems installing it!

DDD you can get cats from magnaflow, shorty headers from edelbrock and if you want a cat-back from flowmaster. They are all legal in Cali and individual direct replacement bolt-ons so you can do one or all.

As of now there's no need for the cat back, but the high flow cat is something I wanted done with the headers. We'll see if I run into any problems with the headers, from there I can decide what route I need to go, thanks for the help sunlit!

As long as your put the new cat in the factory location, you should not have any problems.
You could've bought JBA shorties for less and they are SS.
