It all started with mice chewing my wires in my headlamps. The fuse inside the interior blew and I figured out I must have a short somewhere. Fixed the wiring, put in a new fuse and presto, I have running lights. But not the problem starts: start the engine, turn on the lights, and the low beam lights turn off. Flick the swith for high beams and they work. Turn off the lights and the low beams come on! So no low beams when I drive with the lights on, only high beams. Turn off the lights and the running lights (low beams) come on. I havent a clue where to look now.

The problem would have to be either the multi-function switch or the wire between it and the drl relay or the G5 contact in the drl relay.

ok, I will try to trace out. I have power in the fuse box and no longer blow fuses but where is the drl relay located? I took a look under the dash yesterday and I do see an open gray colored box with some relays and it looks like the turn signal flasher.

How are you on air conditioning? I think that circuit has power issues also. When I turn on the air (push the dash button) I get nothing, no green light and the compressor does not kick on. It was working fine earlier in the summer. After it was recharged I hit the dash button, heard a pop sound from under the dash, and then nothing. I assume there is another relay circuit under the dash somewhere.

also I found this online at autozone when I was looking for the headlight relay: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/pa...ln5Z9ck5l?counter=0&itemIdentifier=66381_0_0_

dont know if it has any relevance or not

That is the DRL control board which yours seem to work if the relay is switching the DRL function properly. You will usually find that board in a gray plastic case taped to the biggest wiring harness under dash. this is the relay.

So on to the air. You turn your fan on any setting accept off put the temp dial on max cold press in the button and no light indicator(bulb can burn out) and no compressor activity correct? Do you have a multimeter handy?

I put in a new DRL relay and it fixed the problem!

On the air conditioner, yes. the fan operates, the defrost button lights up, but no air conditioner green light or recirculation green light. I do have a multimeter!
