Okay Guys,

Here is a picture of what I have. I am considering hooking the heater hose up the end and just not using a connector – is that safe? i am thinking about running the hose up on them over the lip and securing it on the other end.

A Dorman 800-403 and 409 do not work. What could I use on these? I have scoured the local shops and looked online. Anyone have any ideas? Much appreciated.

Below you will see the original connector, if I could find this quick disconnect on the end of it I could hook it up like its supposed to be.

Thoughts? THANK A MILLION GUYS! :)

I believe the one you are looking for is here : https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=620282&cc=1440611&jsn=254
If understand your post correctly. You need the barbed quick connect that attaches to the hose coming from the water pump.

Exactly what I need, the barbed quick connector. However, I did order those and they would not slip on all the way to my new and old connectors so I sent them back.

At this point I am wondering if just hooking the heater hoses up to the T's ends (without the barbed connector would be the best course of action. I am unsure of what else to do.

There are 2 possible sizes. 5/8" and 3/4" so it sounds like you probably need the 3/4" (this is the 2 sizes that can be used to connect your heater hose to your existing T) and its here: http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1027816&cc=1425327&jsn=427&jsn=427&jsn=427

This fitting will connect to a 3/4" plastic quick connect Tee and the barb is 5/8" to connect to your heater hose. Dorman part# 800-409 and is a normally stocked item at most Advance Auto Parts.

Thanks for the reply. This is where it gets weird. I tried that connector and while it slides in it does not clamp on. I talked to dorman online and they said they do not make a connector piece - this really puzzled me because I have seen these replaced online. I have to be missing something somewhere. I just need to figure out what it is, or I guess I will just hook the hoses up to the t's... dangit.

Where is it that you are having fitment problems exactly? Using your picture above that shows the tees with heater hose quick connect, The quick connect on the right of course is for the heater hose that leads to the water pump. The quick connect (part of the Tee) on the left connects to your heater core inlet/outlet. The quick connect (part of the Tee) on the bottom that points downward connects to hose that leads back to your rear heater core (rear HVAC). Which one is too big or too small and wont fit your setup?

What year make and model are you working on?

This is from an 04 Tahoe Z71. The two at the top are my new ones. The one at the bottom is an old one. I need fittings that are like the one on the bottom for my top two ones - they are the same size outlet. However, I am unable to locate them. I have tried the dorman 409 - too big. I also tried dorman 800-403 not right, and 47165 too small. So at this point I am wondering if I should just hook the heater hose right up to the tees - without the barbed connector - and just forget it.

I'm curious if you remove the old heater hose quick connect and transfer it to the new T, will it lock in?

Have not tried it yet, I will give it a go. The "white" one broke as I took it off and this one looks like it might want to. We shall see.

I have a 05 yukon denali and I just did this repair not 3 weeks ago and mine took the 47165 5/8" coupling/ 5/8" barbed fitting. I suspect you arent pushing hard enough or need to lube the oring in the coupling with coolant.
Go down or call a local GM Parts Dept. with your VIN# and they can tell you what goes on your 04. With the GM part# we can convert it to a Dorman if you publish those numbers.
