Good grief look at all those hose clamps to possibly leak. That does not look like a good solution to just getting new OEM ones that’ll likely last another 10+ years.
Don't forget, the spring style clamps maintain squeezing pressure all the time, even as the hose material compresses. Screw clamps will not readjust to the rubber hose compressing.
Next time I’m at a wrecking yard I need to remember to load up on those clamps in every size. I’ve been replacing every screw clamp on both my trucks with either t-bar clamps for the big stuff like CAI hoses or spring clamps for everything else but if you buy new spring clamps they’re expensive and GM doesn’t list sizes.Correct! This is why they are known as "constant tension" hose clamps. I'd also like to add that the Honda clamps I used on the 5/8" hoses were a hair smaller than those on the 5/8" hoses from the GM trucks. So, they squeeze just a little tighter.
