that little duct on the side of it is a cooling duct, the air blows into the blower motor from the airbox to keep the motor cooled, other blower motors are self-cooling and do not use the duct. just depends on the vehicle I have pulled the motors from the junkyard with the duct and others without it (self-cooling)My bad y’all I was doing this on my break so I was in panic mode thinking I broke something but it’s all good. Turns out it’s just part of the blower motor and it only snapped on one area so I was able to glue it back on.
But just an update while I’m here, I tested the blower motor on the battery still works… So grabbing a multimeter and I’m gonna check the connections and go from there
Yep it was the resistor. Apparently it happens a lot. I see a lot of videos on YouTube.if the resistor has failed it will be the 1st one I have seen on the gmt900's they made them pretty beefy compared to the gmt800's which failed often.
for the gmt800's yes, yours is the 1st one I have seen on this forum for the gmt900'sYep it was the resistor. Apparently it happens a lot. I see a lot of videos on YouTube.
My old one was pretty corroded. Probably from when I left my sunroof open in a rainstorm when I first got it.for the gmt800's yes, yours is the 1st one I have seen on this forum for the gmt900's
