Hey guys, I guess i'm going to take the daunting task of changing my fuel pressure regulator today, but i need help. I'm not ASE certified by any means, but I'm pretty good with a wrench. I have a '99 Yukon 5.7. I THINK I have to 1st remove my fuel spider. Is this correct? Could someone give me step by step directions? I tired of my Yukon running rough, and 3-4 second cold starting. I just really need a confidence boost, since I need this to be up and running for work on Monday. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!

not really on removing spider first but you have to remove all that covers it.. and don't change the regulator. Replace the whole spider assembly. there is a new redesigned one that is a huge improvement over the old and has new regulator on it already. Delphi-FJ10566 amazon price will vary depending if they have them in stock at the time or a amazon merchant does. amazon direct price is $224 but they keep getting sold out because it is the bomb.

So once again if you have the old injector system DO NOT REPLACE REGULATOR. DO WHOLE UNIT. Trust me. It may even give you a *****.

If you still want instructions now let me know And I will post it for you later. lacking tech data access at the moment.

I did mine in 18 hours, but then again I broke a bolt.
Just be very carefull when tightening.
Oh and don't forget the vaseline! I used baby powder scented. My engine bay smelt good for a while. :D

I've been readin this thread and your other thread. You've never actually mentioned in either if your replacing with a new spider or the MPFI upgrade.

And finally, you've never mentioned why your replacing the fuel regulator. I'm not a mechanic, but to me if your having fuel pressure issues, wouldn't you be looking at replacing the fuel pump/sending unit?

Anyways, hopefully this will all work out for you! Good luck!
