In the middle of my efan install on my 01 using a blackbear harness and bit a snag, question is when taping the AC wire which color does it get spliced to? I've heard its the same color as the light green wire on harness, and I've read its the dark green and the dark green with white stripe. Want to get it right before I bundle it all back up, anyone?

Thanks for the reply, looks like we might have different color wires, you said the third wire you hooked up looked most like the harness color and I just tried a lime green wire the exact same color as harness but passenger side on all the time. So the passenger side will only come on with the AC on and the driver side only when temp is above 209? I guess I'll try the green n white stripe next as I read one other that used that wire

Next question, hooked up green wire and passenger side comes on with AC, but it cycles on for a few seconds then off then @ a min later cycles on and off and so on, normal?

Yes that is normal. It will do that when you have your vent selector switch on either floor, floor/defrost, or defrost while on any fan speed setting other than off!! If you have it on the vent or vent/floor mode, it won't turn on unless you actually have the A/C on (button lit). All of this is what mine does and from what i've heard from others with this mod!!

Cool, thanks for the help. Got it all buttoned up and took a ride down the freeway, had my garmin hooked up which shows me live coolant temp and it never went above 196, read earlier that the main fan doesn't activate till 209 so I guess I'll just have to hope it works and see when it heats back up around here

Hey Matt ...

I too just did this install the other day and ran into the same issues & questions. Justin wrote back and told me that it's normal for our AC clutch to cycle the fan on and off as often as we're experiencing. And although I trust the guys on here that have done this mod, and Justin's experience, it does seem crazy, not to mention loud, to have them cycling on and off two to three times a minute.

Also, I have not been able to verify the blue 42 pin activating the drivers side fan like the LS1 directions instructed. I'm not all that anxious to undo everything again, but Justin said we could verify by grounding out the blue pin to get the fan to turn on.

Hope that helps and adds a little piece of mind. If you find/learn anything more of different, please post it here so we can all learn. I have to say, I was super surprised that the fan is as loud as it is, draws as much power, and cycles as often as it does.

One fan should have 5 blades and the other should have 7 blades. The 7 blade fan is about twice as loud as the 5 blade. Make sure its the 5 blade fan that is coming on with the AC. I had my 7 blade fan on at first and it was loud as hell. I just swapped the two fan plugs around and its a lot quieter now.

Thanks Scott. I'll check as soon as I get home. Although I ordered the harness through BB and it's set-up with one plug distally from the relays, and one plug proximally, so I'm relatively certain I'm hooked into the proper fans.

In any case I'm checking per your advice, since when the fan kicked on the other day and my non-mechanical and completely oblivious wife was in the driveway, she said, "that doesn't sound right"! My fan is fairly close to the sound of one of those indoor skydiving facilities!
