im thinkin about doing way with the nitrous and buying a super charger. what yall think in ganna have in buying one for? its a built vortec. 5.7l

Man, I'm going to be straight up with you and tell you what I tell a lot of people who consider doing the same thing. Think about what you're putting it into....as cool as our tahoes/yukons are, a motor like that belongs in something much lighter. For as much as you'd have to spend to get that setup going, you could easily buy a used drag chassis (maybe a tubbed vega or something) and build up a motor for it. It's all about power/weight when it comes down to it.

If however, you are never going to get another vehicle, and keep that truck forever...then absolutely go for it, just know that you'll never ever get the money out of your truck if you decide to sell it. ...just my 2 cents

my dad tells me the same thing. i was just wondering about it. lol i do wanna build a little drag car. the motor i got in my shop thats going in my hoe is a bord 30 over to a 355 vortec, forged flat tops pistons, forged rods, cammed, head work, decked 25,000s, bord throttle body, tb spacer, pacesetter headers, 150shot, i got a 3000 stall im doing, the hoe has 4.10 gears, 2.4 drop. i need to put all this in a single cab my year model. lol

It'll be difficult to find a Whipple, Magnacharger, or Weiand roots/screw blower for these motors. If you have the $$$, patience, & fab skills you could make your own kit.

Turbo &/or NOS will get you the biggest gains.

Isn't bored .30 over bigger than a 355?
