Hey guys, facing a dilemma and can't decide what to do. Need new tires but can't decide if I want to stick with current 285/70/17, and use wheel spacers for a wider stance.

Or go up to a 295/70/17.

I don't think I can run the 295/70 with a spacer as it would hit my cladding in the back of the front fenders.

Have keys/Spacers on a z71 running 17x8 wheels currently. Here's how it sits.e98317e6e5e83fef73c07540b7dda784.jpg

I like the wide stance and the fat stuffed tire look equally! Can't decide what I like more. Has anybody ran the 295/70 size with some offset and gotten away with it?

285/70/17 stock offset, 2" spacer, they stick out pretty good without the Bushwackers.

If they rub, just trim a little off. If done right you can't tell, unless you know to look for it.

A 295 is not more than 1/2" taller than most 285's, a little wider yes. So basically a 1/4" closer to rubbing than you are now.

When I tried to put on those 35's they weren't even close to the front bumper. But they rubbed the cladding piece on the back of the front fenders. That's what I'm worried about hitting if I go bigger and more offset.

Is anybody running a 295/70 or true 33/12.5 with a lot of offset? Haven't found much on Google.

A little trimming or adjustments to the fender liner would be worth it IMHO.

I was originally planning on swapping rims. But think I've decided to hold off for now and stick with what I got and just do tires.

Guess I'll put on some 295/70/17, and then see how much of a spacer I can get away with!

I have 305/30/26 which is a 33.2" tall and 12" wide tire and I have 26x10 rims 25 offset. No rub. My fender height is only 36.5". Idk if that helps but 10"wide rims you should be good with a higher offset.

9" wide rims I wouldn't go lower then a 12offset.

285/75/16's on 16x8's, 1 1/4" more offset than stock (+6mm vs -25mm)

I also have 2 1/2" spacers on the rear, haven't put the 1 1/2" ones on the front. I ordered them when I had stock offset 20's on my older Tahoe, didn't like the tucked look.

I know, I know... I need to take care of the rust on the front fender. Also have to have the rear rocker panels done, just picked up the front and rear skins to do them. Going to overlay them, and seam seal them in before I spray texture on it from the body line down.

From the rear, it looks like I've lowered it.... but those are 33's on there.
