I have read on a previous post about the 4x4 switch not engaging. My 99 is engaging when u press the button it stays on for awhile then just turns off but it's still engaged. Even when on 2 hi it will stay on but at times turns off.Just not sure if it is as simple as a fuse or if it is the actuator.

Any help would b good

Thanks

It's just the indicator lights themselvesin the switches. Your truck is in the gear you've pressed, the light itself may not "stay" on, but I'll bet if you press around the outer edges of the whole switch panel (not touching the actual buttons) the light will come back on.

If all the indicator lights do it I would suspect either a bad ground connection for the lights in the switch or tccm.

Thanks guys for the responses. It actually worked. When i tapped around the switch it turned back on. Is there a way to find where the bad connection is coming from. Great info. Thanks again. Any help would be great

check the connector in the back to see that is firmly seated if it is you may have to replace it I don't think it is repairable.
