just an update! I picked up the yukon today, they replaced the steering wheel position sensor the entire harness, sir sensor. BUT some things still wrong that wern"t like that when I took it in.

the gear shift lever light under park won't light up(adjustment maybe?)

the service stabilitrack light came on in the DIC while driving it home, could this be a programing issue?

all the steering wheel control buttons work, I still have to take it in to have A alignment done. I think the dealer may get A chace to fix this. thoughts anyone?

thanks...

Not good news! I took my kon to the dealer for A alignment and had them look at the DIC, because it was still giving stability light. It turns out the shop put in a used harness and steering column, and the steering wheel position sensor is bad!, throwing the code! Now also the little bar under the park position does not light up! The dealer wants to fix all of this for me at A expensive cost to me! I dont want to take it back to the first shop! Trying to deciede how to procede! What would cause the little bar under park to go out but all the other little bars are there for the gears? running out of pateince and money. Any help on this would be great...

thanks...

Go back to where you had your truck in the first place and demand that they make it right. Especially if things were not like that BEFORE you took it in and if they installed a used harness.

It certainly ALWAYS is a pain in the a$$ not having your truck and having to take extra time to drop it off/pick it up.

However, I bet it will be a MUCH BIGGER PAIN if you will not take care of it and have the guys that messed it up MAKE IT RIGHT! (As already mentioned above by myself as well as Chris).

Ok, I had to go verify this to make sure i was right....When in Park, the bar under "P" is lit, when you pull the shift lever to you (without moving the lever to a new gear) the LITTLE BAR UNDER "P" GOES OUT! It only works like this in park, none of the other gears.

so to be more clear. when in park, the bar under "P" should be lit when the shift lever is released; and then it goes out whe the shift lever is pulled back.

I assume you 04 is like my 03. That tells me the computer isnt recognizing the lever is released. Maybe a sensor. Maybe the column isnt properly aligned.

Can you shift out of park without pressing the brake?

Did they ever give a reason to why all those parts were damaged, or were they just grabbing at straws to fix it? it seems to me like they were working on the suspension's steering parts, yet they damaged the steering wheel. maybe they misaligned the wheel by a revolution or two and pulled some wires like someone above said. They shoud have checked everythin out and fixed it 100% before returning it to you.

Good luck with the repair.

the light under "P" is now no longer there. All the other gears are it is there. I thought it could have been a adjustment also. I could have sworn it was there when I picked it up, now it is for sure not there. Any thoughts anyone?
