Hey guys, so its been a long while since ive been on here as my yukon no longer was my daily driver and since I wasnt spending as much time in it I found myself spending less time on here. However, I know that I can count on you guys to help me out even though its been a while.

2008 GMC YUKON SLT, 72K Miles. Car has not had a single issues since the day i purchased it brand new. Today I was driving to work when all of a sudden, the engine has a big knock in it, car slows down to 15 mph and check engine light goes on. I pull over and shut the car off, give it a moment and turn it back on and the dash show check engine light on and the dash screen reads: "Engine Power reduced" followed by "service traction control" followed by "service stabilitrak". The car starts right up, will run at 20mph no problem, but still has check engine ligh on and flashes those errors.

SO ANY IDEAS GUYS? has anyone experienced this? Any help would be much appreciated! THANKS IN ADVANCE:

Mine did the same thing - I pulled over, turned it off, and sat for about a minute. I guess I got lucky as the problem didn't reoccur, however, as Martins denali said, I needed a new battery a few months later. Good luck either and let us know if you get to the route of the problem.

Have seen this complaint before and some times is fixed by a battery or taking care of loose or dirty battery connections. Sometimes it takes a search for grounds under the hood and along the front frame area and repair a loose or dirty connection. Have fun. Do a search on here for all the related threads.

The first thing you need to do is get the code pulled. Because its a check engine light code any OBDII scanner should be able to pull it.

Happened to me once when it was -25F cruising down the interstate in my suburban. The reason was from the throttle possession sensor.
