I circled the areas in that first pic that would appear to be instances of glare. Of course, it's tough to say since it's aimed at a pillar. The 2nd pic is one from another thread here (http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12716&postcount=6), and this is in reflector housings on an 800. I circled the areas that are indeed glare. These may not look like much, but it's enough to blind another driver on the road.
The 09's, if you hadn't told me, I would have thought they were in projectors. That's a nice beam pattern.
The other 2 pics are of my GC that I had projectors retrofit into, and yes...I've got REAL halo's in there around the Highs.
I'm new to this forum as I just purchased my '03 Denali, but I've been around HID's for a few years now, and installed several sets. There is a LOT of glare in Rollin Thunder's pics. However, glare itself isn't necessarily bad to oncoming drivers. It depends on where it's going, and a lot of his is coming up (you can tell by the glare on the camera from the photo). If it's already a fairly high vehicle, it may not cause much problem for on-coming traffic.
On the other hand, MikeTheApeMan has really great cut-off, and it's easy to tell he's using projectors. That looks really good, and that is what I'm looking to achieve with my Denali.
I need to get new headlight housings because when I bought it they were pretty beat up and have filled holes on them. I don't like the majority of the aftermarket housings that I'm finding. I don't want a gazillion LED's or anything like that. HALO's I can live with, but I just want a quality housing with quality projectors. Anyone have suggestions?
And what brand HID's is everyone running? I've got a couple favorites, but I'm curious what the truck people like and if it's the same.
I also used to run HIR's in my high-beams on my old car, and those things are pretty incredible. Do they make an 880 HIR for the fogs?
Thanks for the help.
