HID Retro Memoirs NNBS Tahoe/Suburban

I've had HID's in every vehicle and most of the time a bulb or ballast or something goes wrong. Usually during a road trip in the winter up north. Don't think Ballasts like firing up in cold weather. Lee I think TRS sells ****** sub par equipment. Not sure why people don't build retrofits from oem headlights from vehicles that had projectors/HID's stock from the factory.

I have the Morimoto Ballast XB35s, sometimes the passenger side headlights don't fire on when headlight switch is on auto, i have to turn the knob manually for it to come on. does not happen to often but when it does it sucks, Has anyone had this problem?

Yeah its a weak ballast and dying. Call TRS and they will give you a new one for free under their warranty.

Let me play Devils advocate. Hid's are sensitive equipment that require stable high voltage to start. If your truck isn't running a fairly new battery and your not charging it regularly with decent mile trips don't blame the ballasts. If all ballast were made in the USA and could except lower voltages they would cost what they cost 12 years ago at 500 a kit wholesale. You get what you pay for. You have to install a relay harness if you want a reliable start. A good Hid kit is more about the install most of the time than it is the equipment. Don't get me wrong there is very poor equipment out there but there is good affordable stuff also.

If you got a complete kit includes projectors and all that is 5 years. Ballast and bulbs is 2 or 3 years. Look it up on their site or call them. Really easy to work with on any issue. Even helped me tune the cutoff on one of my projectors over the phone

They are helpful and the warranty is great

It's just that they do have issues. Overall I been happy. It's just that when stuff happens you're sitting there with the front cover off on a nnbs diagnosing stuff suxks.
