I am going to install some ****** long tube headers in my 99 2dr tahoe 4X4. It has the 6in RCD lift on it. I was wondering if anyone could tell me the differences i.e. ease of installation, performance, or desired outcomes between the 2462 and 2806 models.

This is my first post and I wanted to take the time to thank everyone on here for the information it has been a great help to me.

Welcome to the forum Matt. I havnt heard of anyone using the 2806 model, but the 2462 is very popular and is what i have on my tahoe. My tahoe is 2wd and the slipped in pretty easy. The passenger side header is super close to the frame, but i believe its from having ****** motor mounts. I have the ceramic coated ones and its really nice. dont bother with painted since the heat will just burn up the paint anyways.
Youll have to weld in a few o2 bungs on the headers tho

Yeah I have seen a few threads of people installing the 2462 just not the 2806. Looks like you have had your headers for awhile, have you been happy with the performance?

changing plugs on this truck with headers is easier then my ls1 fbody if that helps (those are a painstaking *****!)

Couldnt tell ya on the performance side. i bolted these up and a supercharger in the same time frame. they sound good open headers lol

you know why the price is different right??

dont spend the extra bucks unless you have some intense engine mods..

2806
1-3/4" x 35" Primary Tubes
3" Collector

2462
1-5/8" x 31" Primary Tubes
2-1/2" Collector

look into the Pacesetter headers for these trucks? I have a set that have the 3 inch collectors. The fit was excellent. Except the passenger side was super close to the metal heat shield at the collector area. I too think the motor mounts are bad... Going to replace those soon. I know alot of people like the ****** headers. I was gunna get those and i came accross the pacesetters. I think they are half the price and pretty much the same thing? just a name difference. Sorry im a college kid that doesnt have alot of money so im always on a budget. Course i love to save money everywhere i can. Good luck with the headers.

I haven't put them in yet. I am going to talk with an exhaust guy before I decide. Right now I have other issues I want to resolve first before I move on.
