DId this to mine, warm day, pour warm to hot water over exterior, I used blunt end of large pipe wrench (may not be wise but it worked). Check to be sure the bracket for your sensor at the outside edge is not cracked, broken or damaged. If it is, take it to a pro.

Exactly. Pretty color too. Unfortunately, not available when I bought mine.

I've never tried it and I've only had minor success with the heat gun, I'd try the hot water first too. Besides, that's what it says on the inter-webs...
