I still doubt the owner of the truck drove around with the parking brake pedel depressed. What I'm saying is due to design the drivers side p-brake can end up being applied even though the p-brake pedal is completely released. Sorry if I'm in a bad mood from today's ********, but it wouldn't kill you to read my post - i'm trying to help future searchers with p-brake issues.

Mis communication on my part. That's exactly what I meant and should have said, I think they drove it with e brake pedal depressed but still engaged because I KNOW how it STICKS because IT HAPPENS TO ME. And I wouldn't reply without reading all the posts. Btw, it didn't kill me.

I replaced everything i could have in the rear when i did the brakes. pads, rotors, emergency brake kit which had all new springs and everything and the dam emergency brake still didn't work. After a year later i said let me look into it and someone told me its the brake cable that is stretched out. I heard of that before so i went and bought two cables from rock auto. One being the front section and the other was the middle section that didnt help. Still doesnt work.

When you installed the ebrake shoes didn't you test them before putting the caliber back on? you need to adjust the star bolt so the ebrakes hold when applied but don't drag when released. You can look at the backside of the backing plate and see if the cable is pulling and releasing properly. That's what took me so long, back and forth between the brake and the brake pedal - one wheel at a time. I'm sure it would be much easier measuring with the adjustment tool, probably worth the cost.

2000 yukon 4x4 130,000. My parking brake sticks even after released, snaps loose when the truck starts moving. Also why is my cable rubbing against the frame? Are they all like that? Shoes are also worn down to metal.
